The website and Katalis (our AI guide) give general information about how AI could help your business, and let you get in touch. It's a helpful starting point — not professional, legal, financial or technical advice tailored to your situation.

About Katalis's answers

Katalis is an AI. It aims to be accurate and honest, and will tell you when it isn't sure rather than guess — but like any AI it can occasionally be wrong or incomplete. Please don't rely on its replies as your only basis for a decision. Anything important should be confirmed with us directly.

The Business Score tool

Our free business score is generated automatically from publicly-available information — your website, web search results and the Companies House register. It's a general, indicative guide to how your online presence looks to customers and search engines, meant to point you at things worth improving. It is not a credit score, a financial or creditworthiness assessment, or any regulated or professional rating, and it has no effect on your credit file. Because it reads information as it appears at the time, it can be incomplete or out of date — please treat it as a helpful starting point, not a definitive verdict. Where it says we couldn't find something, that is what our automated check could see from outside on the day, not a finding that the business lacks it or has broken any rule. The score is free for anyone; the full report opens with a free account (a verified email and mobile), and we record which account opened which business's full report. If a report about your business is wrong, email katalis@meetkatalis.com and we'll check it and put it right.

Free checking tools

Our other free tools work on the same basis as the Business Score. The ID-verification deadline checker reports only what the public Companies House register shows at the time — the register can lag behind reality, and results are general deadline guidance from public data, never a statement that any person has failed to comply with the law, and not legal advice. Tender Radar matches are an automated, indicative reading of public tender notices — always read the full notice before bidding. Company Check says a company is on the UK Sanctions List only when its company number, or its exact registered name and address, match a UK entry; otherwise it says it didn't match it, which is not a clearance (companies owned or controlled by someone on the list aren't named on it). Check the official list before relying on it. The AI-visibility checker reports what specific AI models say from their own knowledge on the day — an indicative snapshot that changes as models update. All document-analysis results across our tools and APIs are automated, indicative opinions generated from the text supplied, not statements of fact or professional advice.

Subscriptions and APIs

Paid plans (API platform and membership) bill through Stripe and can be cancelled at any time — you keep access for the period you've paid for. It's a subscription, not a contract: if a renewal payment doesn't go through, it ends that day and nothing is charged for the new period. If a payment is refunded in full, or disputed with your card provider, the plan it paid for ends that day too. Everything you made stays in your account, and you can sign up again any time. API prices are shown exclusive of VAT, which is added at checkout with a VAT invoice; membership prices include VAT. API usage is metered in credits as described on the plan pages. Keys are for your own use; don't share, resell or attempt to circumvent metering.

Membership fees, tokens and refunds: each membership payment covers that billing period: the watch and that period's token allowance, which everything Katalis writes and does for you draws from. Cancel whenever you like and you keep everything until the end of the period you've paid for. A period that has started isn't refunded, in whole or in part, whether or not its tokens were used, and there is no cooling-off refund (membership is sold to businesses). Upgrading starts a new period on the new plan that day, and the part of the current month's allowance you haven't used (on an annual plan, plus the months not yet started) comes off its price. A smaller plan starts on your next billing date; you keep the plan you have until then. Tokens have no cash value and can't be exchanged for money or transferred. Each month's plan allowance can be used for two months from the day it's granted; after that, any unused part expires. The oldest tokens are used first, and bought tokens last. Tokens you buy as a top-up don't expire or get capped while your account is open; if a top-up payment is refunded or disputed, the unused part of those tokens is taken back. Katalis is sold to businesses and sole traders for use in their business. Nothing here affects any rights you have by law.

What Katalis makes for you (members)

Yours: your words, your logo and photos, and any picture an AI makes from your own brief. Use them anywhere, for as long as you like, including after you leave. We give you whatever rights we have in them; we can't promise that something a machine made is protected by copyright or that no one else will ever have something like it.

Ours, for you to use in your piece: the header art our engine draws, our effects, and our layouts and templates, and the code behind them. You can keep using them inside the piece they were made for, for as long as you like, including after you leave. You may not take them out of the piece to use elsewhere, or sell or license them on their own. A download is always the whole finished piece, and every picture of a piece we hand out carries an invisible mark, so we can recognise our art if it turns up somewhere it shouldn't.

Ours, and running while you're a member: an effect on your own website runs on that site only, and only while your plan includes it. The pages we host for you at meetkatalis.com stay up while you have an account; taking a piece down, or closing your account, takes them down, so download anything you want to keep first (Account → Download everything).

You let us use your logo, photos, fonts and business details to make, host and show your pieces for you, and for nothing else. We can take down a hosted piece that breaks the law or these terms. We show a piece of yours on our own site as an example only if you tick “Let Katalis show this as an example” on that piece; untick it and it comes off.

Marketing review (members)

If you're a member and upload a screenshot of your own marketing or advertising data, you confirm it's yours to share and doesn't contain other people's personal data. We read it to give you honest, practical feedback based on what's visible — it's guidance, not a guarantee of results, and any changes you make are your own decision.

Pricing and enquiries

Prices for building work shown or mentioned in chat are indicative ballparks to help you plan, are exclusive of VAT, and are not a binding quote (membership and API prices are as set out above). The actual scope and cost of any work are agreed with you separately in writing. Sending an enquiry or having a conversation does not create a contract — any engagement is governed by a separate agreement we'd put in place together.

No guaranteed results

Every business is different, so we don't promise specific outcomes or returns. We only recommend AI where we believe it genuinely helps, and we'll tell you honestly when it doesn't.

Acceptable use

Please use the site and chat lawfully and reasonably. Don't try to disrupt or misuse the service, and don't submit other people's personal data, or unlawful, harmful or offensive content, through the chat.

Our tools and reports are for checking your own business and businesses you deal with. You may not use them, or anything they show, to threaten, harass or pressure a business or a person, to demand money, or to make complaints in bulk. We close accounts that do, and we will share our records of who looked up what where the law asks us to.

Intellectual property

The content, design and branding of this website belong to Katalis. You're welcome to view and share it, but please don't copy or reuse it commercially without our permission.

Liability

We provide the website and chat in good faith and "as is". To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its general information. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't legally be limited.

Where we link to other websites, we're not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.
