About the Tender Radar
What it actually checks
- It reads this week’s open notices on Contracts Finder, the government’s public notice service for contracts across councils, the NHS, schools and departments (open data under the Open Government Licence).
- It works out what your business does from the public record and your website, then matches the open tenders to it and explains each fit in plain English.
- Every match shows the buyer, the deadline, the value where the notice gives one, and a link to the original notice.
- An honest zero is a real result: if nothing this week fits, it says so rather than padding the list.
How to read your result
- The fit score is a starting judgement, not a bid decision. Read the notice; the scope and the paperwork decide whether it’s worth your week.
- Open tenders change every week. The best match is free with no sign-up (five checks a week across all our free tools); the full list opens with a free account; members get new matches with an alert, monthly or weekly as they choose.
- Since April 2025 every central government department has had to set and publish its own target for spending with small businesses (Procurement Policy Note 001).

- Do you bid for me?
- No. The radar finds and explains; bidding is yours. If you want help shaping a bid, that’s Workshop work, scoped and priced per job.
- Why are some matches nothing like my trade?
- Matching is done from how your business describes itself publicly. If your site doesn’t say clearly what you do, the matches drift. Fixing that helps here and everywhere else.
- Are these the only public contracts?
- No. The radar reads Contracts Finder only. Since the Procurement Act came into force on 24 February 2025, the larger contracts above the procurement thresholds are advertised on Find a Tender, which the radar doesn’t read yet; Contracts Finder carries the smaller ones, and many small purchases are placed directly or through frameworks.
