What it actually checks
- It looks your company up on Companies House and reads its registered activities (SIC codes), size and age.
- It matches those against the UK AI and innovation funding schemes we track, and returns the ones worth exploring for a business like yours.
- It is indicative only. Schemes open, close and rename; the checker points you at what to look into, it does not apply for anything.
How to read your result
- Treat every match as a lead to read, not a promise. Eligibility always turns on detail the register can’t show: your project, your region, your accounts.
- What tends to be fundable, from the guide: adoption with a business case (“this removes X hours of admin”), training your team on real work, and paid-for advice and planning before you build anything.
- Leave an email and a person will look at the shortlist with you. Nobody can promise funding, and we won’t.
Questions people ask

- No. It’s a shortlist of schemes worth reading, built from what the public register says about your company. Applications are made to each scheme directly.
- Will I definitely get something?
- No one can promise that, and anyone who does should be avoided. The checker narrows the field; the application decides.
- What about R&D tax relief?
- It’s in the guide, with the honest caveat that it rewards genuine technical uncertainty, not buying software. Talk to your accountant before counting on it.
