Katalis is an independent UK business: an AI marketing manager for small businesses, and the developer platform you’re reading, built on the same research engine that powers the rest of what we do. It is run by its founder, Curtis Ashley, who answers the support address himself. It trades as a UK sole trader, VAT registration number GB 215 2836 23, registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office as a data controller (registration ZC233247), operating from 43 East Street, Farnham, Surrey, GU9 7SW, England. Billing runs through Stripe with VAT invoices on every paid plan.
how the platform is run
The APIs run as Node serverless functions on Vercel with data in Supabase (Postgres), anchored to official UK sources — Companies House, the Payment Practices reports, Contracts Finder and Find a Tender, Gender Pay Gap reports and the UK Sanctions List under the Open Government Licence v3.0, and the Environment Agency’s registers under its Conditional Licence. The document APIs read the report you send (a CQC or Ofsted report, a charity’s own annual report). Raw API keys are never stored (hash only), keys can be rotated instantly from the dashboard, and every account sits behind verified email and SMS sign-up. We don’t publish an uptime SLA yet — the status check above is live and honest, and if you need contractual availability for a serious integration, talk to us.
how fresh the data is
Most sources are read live on every call. The registers we copy (so a check answers in milliseconds and a change feed can say what moved) are refreshed on the schedule below, and this table reads their real state from the database.

where your data is processed
The API runs in Vercel’s Dublin region and the database is Supabase in Ireland: the records we hold are kept in the EU. Payments are Stripe’s, sign-in emails go through Resend, verification codes through Twilio, bot checks through Cloudflare Turnstile, and the AI routes run through Vercel’s AI gateway to OpenAI and Anthropic. The full list, with what each one sees, is in the privacy policy. Raw API keys are never stored, only a hash; the people-level data (directors, PSCs) goes only to accounts with a verified email and mobile, and only within the law.
