# CQC Care Provider Check

Is this company a CQC-registered care provider, how are its services rated, and has that changed.

Registered or deregistered, since when, what kind of provider; every location with its overall rating and the five key questions, read live; plus a feed of every provider or location added, deregistered or re-rated since a date.

Every care home, home-care agency, GP surgery, dental practice, clinic and hospital in England is registered with the Care Quality Commission, and the CQC's register is the one place that says whether a provider is registered today, which services it runs, and how each is rated: Outstanding, Good, Requires improvement or Inadequate, with the five key questions beneath. The CQC publishes it one record at a time with a feed of what changed but not what the change was. We keep a daily copy and read the feed, so this endpoint matches the company you ask about to its CQC provider (by the CQC's own Companies House number, else the company's registered and former names, else a CQC id), reads the provider and its registered locations live for today's ratings and dates, and shows every change recorded for it since 2 October 2026; and the changes feed lists every provider or location added, deregistered or re-rated since a date, so the day a home drops to Inadequate you know. Organisations and services only: no registered manager, partner or contact is ever returned.

## Endpoints

- `GET /api/v1/cqc-check?company=…` — A company number (the CQC's own, then registered and former names), a provider's name, or a CQC provider or location id
- `GET /api/v1/cqc-check/changes?since=…` — Every change since a date; filter by change (added, status, rating), kind (provider, location) and to (e.g. Inadequate)

## What you'd build with it

- **Care-sector lending and M&A.** A portfolio of homes checked in one run: registered, rated what, when last inspected, and the feed for the day one is re-rated.
- **Commissioners and brokers.** Before a placement or a contract: the provider's registration and every location's rating, live from the CQC, matched to the company rather than a look-alike name.
- **Supplier and tenant vetting.** A care operator as a counterparty: deregistered services, Inadequate ratings and the dates, on the record.

## Why this one

- **What changed, not just that it changed.** The CQC's feed says which records moved; we say from what to what, the day after it happens. Kept since 2 October 2026.
- **Matched to the company.** The CQC's own Companies House number first, then the company's registered and former names: never a look-alike.
- **Live ratings, the CQC's words.** The provider and up to twelve locations are read from the CQC at call time, so the rating and the inspection date are today's. Acknowledged as the CQC asks.

## Conventions

- Auth: `x-api-key: kat_live_…` on every request (free key at https://meetkatalis.com/developers: a verified email and mobile, 100 credits a month, no card).
- One credit balance across every API; each endpoint's price is on its page and in `x-credits` in https://meetkatalis.com/openapi.yaml.
- Keys are camelCase everywhere. A registered company is `company: { name, number, status, statusDetail?, filingsOverdue? }` on the register endpoints; the enrichment family (enrich, score, assess, brand-kit, ai-visibility, tender-match) keeps `business` / `profile` with `companyNumber`.
- Every error has `code` and `requestId`; every reply an `x-request-id` header; a charged reply `x-credits-remaining`; a reply that gave credits back `x-credits-refunded`. Missing = 404 with `query`.
- Burst ceiling 60 requests a minute per key (429, `Retry-After`, no credits used). A failure on our side (5xx) gives the call's credits back.
- Company data contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
